European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad

The European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) is an international mathematics competition modeled after the International Mathematical Olympiad, specifically designed for female secondary school students. National teams, typically consisting of up to four girls and two leaders, are selected by each participating country through their own national math contests or selection processes. EGMO is held annually in a different host country and spans several days, including two contest days with challenging proof-based problems, along with social and cultural activities. Participants gain advanced problem-solving experience, international exposure, and the chance to connect with other mathematically talented young women. The competition aims to encourage girls’ participation in high-level mathematics and to support their development toward future studies and careers in STEM.
