European Olympiad of Experimental Science

The European Olympiad of Experimental Science (EOES) is an international, lab-based science competition that brings together teams of upper-secondary students to tackle integrated experimental problems in biology, chemistry, and physics. Participants work in teams (typically three students) to design and carry out experiments, analyze data, and present solutions to complex, real-world inspired tasks. EOES is open to students selected and nominated by their home countries’ national science Olympiad organizations or ministries of education; there is no direct individual registration. The competition is held annually in a different European host country, and includes practical lab exams, cultural activities, and opportunities to meet peers and scientists from across Europe. Benefits include hands-on research experience, exposure to interdisciplinary STEM, international networking, and recognition through medals and awards.
