Let the Peoples Sing Choral Competition

Let the Peoples Sing is a long-running international choral competition organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Founded in 1961, it brings together amateur choirs from around the world to perform a wide range of repertoire, typically broadcast by member radio organizations. The event highlights artistic excellence, cultural exchange, and the diversity of global choral traditions. The competition is primarily structured for choirs rather than individual singers, and many participating ensembles include high school–age students (especially in youth and children’s categories). However, it is not a high school–specific competition and entry is usually coordinated through choirs and national broadcasters, not directly by individual students. Participation offers choirs international exposure, professional-level performance opportunities, and feedback through a prestigious, EBU-affiliated platform. Because rules, categories, and age requirements can vary by edition and country, interested high school–age singers typically join an eligible youth or school choir and work with their conductor to pursue participation through their national broadcaster or choral organization.
