The Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition is one of the world’s leading viola competitions, founded in honor of legendary violist Lionel Tertis. Held roughly every three years on the Isle of Man (UK), it attracts highly advanced young violists from around the globe for multiple rounds of solo performance before an international jury. The event typically includes set repertoire (including required contemporary works), own-choice pieces, and concerto performances with piano and, for finalists, with orchestra.
