Philadelphia Science Festival

The Philadelphia Science Festival is a citywide celebration of science, technology, engineering, and math led by The Franklin Institute and a large network of partner institutions. Traditionally held over several days in the spring, the festival features hands-on activities, lab tours, science cafés, lectures, and a large outdoor Science Carnival on the Parkway that bring science to neighborhoods across Philadelphia. High school students can participate as attendees, volunteers, or through programs hosted by schools, museums, universities, and community organizations that join the festival each year. The event is family-friendly and open to the public, providing a chance to meet scientists and engineers, explore STEM careers, and engage in interactive demonstrations. Participation in most public events is free or low-cost, making it an accessible way for teens to deepen their interest in science and connect with the local STEM community.
