Queen Sonja International Music Competition

The Queen Sonja International Music Competition is a prestigious biennial voice competition for young classical singers from around the world, held in Oslo, Norway. Founded in 1988 in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sonja, the competition aims to support and promote the next generation of professional opera and concert singers. Participation is open to emerging professional singers within a defined age range (typically in their 20s and early 30s), not to high school students. Contestants are selected through a pre-qualification process and compete in live rounds with piano and orchestra, performing for an international jury of distinguished musicians and opera professionals.
