Robo-One Biped Robot Competition

Robo-One is a long-running Japanese robotics competition focused on biped (two-legged) humanoid robots that battle and perform in a ring. Organized by the **Robo-One Committee**, the event features categories such as robot battles, technical demonstrations, and autonomous challenges. Teams design and build their own small humanoid robots, then compete in one-on-one matches that emphasize balance, agility, control, and durability. Robo-One is not specifically a high school program, but motivated high school students with sufficient robotics and programming experience can potentially participate as part of a team (often alongside university students, hobbyists, or mentors), provided they meet the event rules and can travel to Japan. Participants gain hands-on experience in mechanical design, electronics, control systems, and strategy while joining an international community of serious robot builders and enthusiasts.
