National Robotics League Combat Robots

The National Robotics League (NRL) is a combat robotics competition that challenges middle school, high school, and college students to design, build, and battle custom robots in an enclosed arena. Teams work with industry mentors to learn mechanical design, machining, electronics, and project management while preparing their robots for head-to-head combat. High school students typically participate as part of a school team, robotics club, or community organization, often sponsored by a local manufacturing partner. Through the process, students gain hands-on engineering experience, exposure to modern manufacturing careers, and teamwork and problem-solving skills. Events are held at regional levels across the United States, culminating in a national championship where top teams compete.
