Thai Short Film and Video Festival

The **Thai Short Film and Video Festival** is one of Thailand’s longest-running short film festivals, organized by the **Thai Film Foundation** and held annually in Bangkok. It showcases a wide range of short films and video works from Thailand and around the world, including narrative, documentary, experimental, and animation. The festival’s mission is to support independent filmmaking, develop film literacy, and give emerging creators a platform to screen their work to a public audience. While the festival is **not exclusively for high school students**, teenagers and high school–age filmmakers are welcome to submit films, attend screenings, and join talks and workshops when offered. Participating gives students exposure to independent cinema, a chance to see their work in a professional festival context (if selected), and opportunities to network with local filmmakers, critics, and film students. Most activities are held **in person in Bangkok**, and many screenings are low-cost or free, but students should check each year’s call for entries and schedule for specific submission rules, deadlines, and any fees or age-focused sections that may be announced.
